Some Thoughts on the Lost Art of Reading Aloud By Verlyn Klinkenborg
This editorial in the NYTimes really strikes a chord with me. I fully embrace technology and all its wonders but as we soak everything in are we losing meaning? Verlyn talks of a past time where we had to produce music and read books for ourselves out of necessity. By no means am I suggesting some sort of Ludditte social movement here but I do believe there is something missing. By always listening are we missing the real meaning here as he suggests? Not sure but perhaps I'll try...
