This is more of a POC for a potential hybrid screenreader. One of the items that I am planning to explore in early Q1 is the use of 3D sound / holographic sound to use within the proposed system. This testing should prove to be a lot of fun.
Abstract
This paper explores new interfaces that can be used to help create a new type of navigation for handsfree/audio devices. The focus will start on understanding current screenreading technology as it relates to real-time informational websites; such as twitter. We will look at current navigational systems for various paradigms; time, space, information. We will also investigate experimental user experience models to identify potential new fits for screenreader technology and handsfree devices; with a focus on real-time content. We then explore new user experience model to identify potential candidate for new handsfree navigational systems and ADA compliant screenreaders that support real-time content, filtering, and context.
